425 – Holy, Holy, Is What the Angels Sing

1
There is singing up in heaven
such as we have never known,
Where the angels sing the praises
of the Lamb upon the throne;
Their sweet harps are ever tuneful
and their voices are always clear,
O that we might be more like them
while we serve the Master here!

Refrain
Holy, holy, is what the angels sing,
And I expect to help them make
the courts of heaven ring;
But when I sing redemption’s story,
they will fold their wings,
For angels never felt the joys
that our salvation brings.

2
But I hear another anthem,
blending voices clear and strong,
“Unto Him who hath redeemed us
and hath bought us,” is the song;
We have come thro’ tribulations
to this land so fair and bright,
In the fountain freely flowing
He hath made our garments white.

3
Then the angels stand and listen,
for they cannot join that song,
Like the sound of many waters,
by that happy, blood-washed throng;
For they sing about great trials,
battles fought and vict’ries won,
And they praised the great Redeemer,
who hath said to them, “Well done.”

4
So, although I’m not an angel,
yet I know that over there
I will join a blessed chorus
that the angels cannot share;
I will sing about my Savior,
who upon dark Calvary
Freely pardoned my transgressions,
died to set the sinner free.

this is a family I belong to and will allways belong to because I found the truth in the book of |Exodus 20 "Remember the sabbath day to keep it holy……the seventh day……"

for sure, the angels will never feel the joy that our salvation brings, i love the song..it uplifts the soul towards the heavens

In the middle of a sermon last Sunday the words of this song came to me after not hearing it for some 50 plus years. So glad I found it and will sing it tomorrow.
They don't write them like this any more.

The angels are in awe that The God of the universe would come to this dark earth, live and die for us (His children). Why didn’t He just “erase us”, and start over with a new world? Because He loves us (His children), and what good thing would a parent not do for a child/ren. Those angles will never experience the type of great love God has for us. They need no salvation (but we do), thus, they won’t be able to sing the special song of the redeemed. But they will see the results of God’s great love as we walk through the gates into the heavenly city. O what a day that will be. Come quickly, Lord Jesus.

It couldn’t get more real than when I heard Del Decker sing this song with the Kings Heralds. Thank God for beautiful songs.

May I be among the cloudy chariot, sided by wings and living wheels beneath. Just shouting, “Alleluia!” As the angels cry, “Holy, holy, Lord God Almighty.”
