is it coming old age, or what? i discovered this old song. Modern versions of this hymn i think are rather sentimental, but the original could be interpreted as an introvert, pure and truly spiritual prayer. when i hear it, it is as if i am back in de church of my great grand father. when this song was written in 1879, in New Jersey, Ocean Grove Camp, my grandmother had just been born in Ureterp. Totally different world, but somehow the same spirit.
