295 – Chief of Sinners

1
Chief of sinners though I be,
Jesus shed His blood for me;
Died that I might live on high,
Died that I might never die;
As the brance is to the vine,
I am His, and He is mine.

2
O the height of Jesus’ love!
Higher than the heaven above,
Deeper than the deepest sea,
Lasting as eternity;
Love that found me-wondrous thought!
Found me when I sought Him not!

3
Chief of sinners though I be,
Christ is all in all to me;
All my wants to Him are known,
All my sorrows are His own;
Safe with Him from earthly strife,
He sustains the hidden life.

Until we realize that we are chief of sinners we can not see the need of a merciful saviour and we may not understand fully the impact of Romans 8:1.Which offers the total solution to the Sin Problem and the Song Chief of sinners brings out clearly that realization that we are chief of sinner condemned to die eternally but thanks be to God for the offer of eternal life through Christ Jesus.

The things I do not want to do, I find myself doing, the things I want to do, I do not do..who can deliver me from this body of death?

Really chief of sinners i am, but thanks for blood of Jesuse i would av been condenmed to death
